I am not sure when this song became the unofficial New Year's song, but I fully support the tradition.
For those unfamiliar, this gibberish ditty is called Prisencolinensinainciusol. It was written and performed by popular Italian singer/actor Adriano Celentano and his wife, Claudia Mori.
Adriano's dance partner in this video isn't Claudia, it's the late Raffaella Carrà, a beloved multitalented Italian performer. Rafaella lipsyncs over Claudia's voice during this performance, and it is actually Claudia playing the harmonica when Adriano mimes doing so.
